Site Surveyor

The role

Sirius Minerals is seeking a site surveyor to work within the project development team of its US$2.9 billion multi-discipline engineering, procurement and construction project. Reporting to the chief surveyor, the purpose of the role is to support project engineers through data collection on the various site locations.

Key responsibilities

  • Onsite survey data collection and processing.

  • Carry out as-built surveys.

  • Set out and confirm that setting out of buildings and structures by other staff members is completed in accordance with the planned designs.

  • Maintain site plans.

  • Undertake volumetric calculations and reporting.

  • Assist with establishing surface deformation monitoring systems.

  • Coordinate between contractors.

Skills, experience and attributes

  • Land surveying experience essential; construction/mine surveying experience desirable.

  • Drone surveying experience desirable but not essential as training will be provided.

  • Experience of Leica surveying equipment desirable but not essential as training will be provided.

  • Ability to use range of software such as Office 360, AutoCAD (Civil/Map 3D) and Leica Infinity. Pix4D is desirable.

  • Ability to work alone or as part of a team.

  • Strong problem solving skills.

  • Travel to various construction site locations will be required, therefore full driving license is essential.

  • Experience of working within a multicultural environment.
