Sirius Minerals is seeking an experienced Logistics Manager to work within the Project Development team of its US$2.9 billion multi-discipline engineering, procurement and construction project. The role will plan and execute the effective and efficient delivery of equipment in line with project cost and schedule requirements, and in accordance with all regulatory, statutory and business requirements.
Formulate, develop and implement logistics management strategies with the objective of meeting business requirements for on time delivery, zero down and delay time and efficient low cost movement of critical capital equipment
Manage commercial relationships and ways of working with our partners to ensure continuous improvement in the delivery of goods
Ensure commercial arrangements are closely and effectively managed, including the maintenance of the necessary electronic and hard files
Monitor and control compliance in respect of the Project’s contractual obligations
Assist Area Project Managers with their supplier relationships
Extensive experience in a similar role, managing logistics services and requirements for multibillion dollar projects, preferably within a large mining company
Experience in the development of strategy and planning for materials movements in challenging environments
Experience with heavy lift and oversized logistics movements
Ability to work closely and collaboratively within the team and communicate effectively with all stakeholders
Regular travel to project sites in North Yorkshire will be required, therefore a clean UK driving licence is essential
