The company behind Woodsmith Mine has joined forces with the North York Moors National Park Authority to make improvements to a popular walking route.
Investigative drilling works, to support the detailed engineering designs for the mineral transport system (MTS), will begin on Monday 25 September and continue for a four-week period.

The formal commencement of construction at Woodsmith Mine follows the site’s formal naming in February and the enablement and preparatory works which have been ongoing since January.
Night time closures will be in place for five nights on the B1416 for resurfacing works. The stretch of road affected is from the A171 junction south of Whitby to Red Gate corner and will be in force between 8.00pm and 6.00am from March 27.
